Lutheran Volunteer Corps Karen Grutzmacher distributes supplemental items in the food pantry this month...  (see picture right)As part of our mission we began seeking resources to address the chronic health problems (like diabetes and heart disease) that so many of our clients face. The supplemental items are part of a grant from Presbytery of chicago and a partnership with the Resource Center which glean items from local grocers like Whole Foods Market.  The pantry served 3100 people last year.

The Ministry spends about $2000 every year to make sure that we have enough food year round for our food pantry.  If we can get just 20 walkers to generate $100 in pledges, we could cover our entire Greater Chicago Food Depository bill!

June 16th Montrose Harbor
Itinerary:
7:30 Coffee warm up at the Ministry (4720 N Sheridan)
8:15 Walk to Montrose Harbor for registration. 
8:25 4400 North at the Lakefront. Meet for Registration (on the west side of the parking lot near the skate board park).
 
1st  Ever Ministry 'Meet and Greet'

Wynton Marsalis Saturday June 23rd; 7:30 pm at Ravinia
marsalisJoin us for jazz at the Ravinia Pavillion. Tickets are $50 with half of the proceeds going to benefit the Ministry. Meet members of the board and staff too!
Tickets are going fast so contact Shawna Tuttle @ 773.271.3760 to reserve tickets or for details. We'll be meeting at the East Entrance to the dining pavillion for drinks at 6 pm or just join us for the Concert at 7:30!
